Nature at Her Brightest--View the Changing Leaves:

Our wedding site and the hotel are located at the foothills of those majestic Rocky Mountains that we love so much. If this Fall is like others, the aspen leaves should be at peak color that weekend. Enjoy the drive up highway 103 from Evergreen to Idaho Springs and back into Denver. Round trip from the hotel should take you about 2 hours.

"Toto, We're Not in Kansas Anymore"--Downtown Denver Digs:

If city living is a little more your style enjoy a trip via Denver's light rail system to downtown Denver. There you will find Denver's finest restaurants, the West's largest cultural facilities, the old Union Station, all of Denver's professional sports complexes, parks, and an outdoor mall. For any outdoor enthusiasts, don't forget to stop at the gigantic Flagship REI that housed in the historic trolley headquarters on the confluence of the Platte River and the Cherry Creek.

Turn Your Weekend into a Walk in the Park--Denver's Parks and Gardens:

If neither the mountains nor the city seem quite right, spend time near Jenn's previous house at Washington Park, where you will find flower gardens modeled after Martha Washington's Mount Vernon gardens, large lakes, huge grassy areas, playgrounds for the kids, extensive walking, biking, and rollerblading paths, and paddle boat and bicycle carriage rentals. Killer brunch, local coffee and gelato shops and specialty shops are within walking distance of the park.

Near downtown...

but far enough away to feel like you're out of the crowd are the Denver Botanic Gardens. They are just north of Cherry Creek, one of Denver's main shopping districts (and home to our favorite Chinese food at Little Ollie's Restaurant and world's best hamburger at The Cherry Cricket). These beautiful gardens capture different landscapes from around the world in a few acres set in the heart of a historic neighborhood. Stop for ice cream at Bonnie Brae ice cream, about 4 miles south of the Botanic Gardens.

Field Trips for the Kid in All of Us--Museums and the Zoo:

It's hard to go wrong (especially for the kids, big and small) with the museums in Denver. The Museum of Science and Nature has everything from a giant T-Rex skeleton to a planetarium, to traveling exhibits, to an unbelievable view of the city with the Front Range Mountains in the background. If art is more your style check out the Denver Art Museum. Modern and chic and in the heart of the city, it houses its own permanent collection alongside different exhibits on loan from museums around the world. While your down near the museum, don't forget to spend some time at the Denver Zoo. As one of the biggest and best zoos in the West, it has everything from polar bears to giraffes (and lots of cool animals from climates in between the arctic and Africa!)
